This study focused on three key areas that affect how pastors minister to the parents of apostate emerging adults: the religious lives of emerging adults, biblical and theological concerns regarding baptism, apostasy, and covenantal status of children, and policies churches have employed to minister to apostate young adults and their parents. This study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with Reformed pastors in the Northwestern United States. This thesis suggests several approaches to equipping and empowering young adults to have confidence in their own faith narratives, and then to share those stories with others. Through qualitative research methods, six successful churches were analyzed. The researcher examined the literature dealing with the promises of the covenant to parents and their children. The researcher conducted interviews with Christian parents who have adult church-dropout children, and adults who had been church dropouts and returned to faith. Within the context of the congregation this writer serves, he sought to structure a conversation among young adults currently active within the church and those without through surveys and interviews. The major academic background is John Wesley's social holiness. The purpose of this thesis is to apply John Wesley's social holiness to young adult groups. The practice of this project was performed in the Chuncheon Central Methodist Church in Korea. The author has been trying several things - sermons, offerings, service club (Dream Tree), and summer Bible school for children with his young adult group. The author found new possibilities for the transformation of Korean churches by means of the social holiness movement which John Wesley and the early Methodists began. The communities of Alabaster have experienced significant growth in population over the past ten years. The project manager identified a need for his church to determine the best strategies for reaching residents who are not Christians and are not involved in a local church. Demographic studies and feedback from local residents were utilized to determine the impact of this project on the community. The supposition of the project was that a crisis exists in North American society regarding the capacity of young adult males to develop toward authentic manhood. The project's thesis was that training young adult males in spiritual disciplines would help them progress toward spiritual maturity and authentic manhood. Through this project the director taught participants how to practice six spiritual disciplines.
