This project is an attempt for the church to utilize its theology of hope, its use of mystery and ritual and its sense of identity and other resources to prevent teenage depression and despair. The project will be conducted over an eight-week period.  The students will read collateral readings prior to each session, and interact with a reading-discussion guide which is designed to focus attention on the specific principles to be learned.  The project will be evaluated by means of a pre-test and a post-test, which will be given to those in the project group and a group of students of similar ability who will not engage in the project.
