Consultations with professors and church leaders both in India and in the US, the proposal, ethnography, and the reporting spanned twenty-six months. Twenty constituents including the youth who left, youth currently attending, parents, and pastors were interviewed along with questionnaires. The findings reveal that the youth left because these congregations have been lacking active ministries. A group of 22 young adults were a part of a focus group, missions classes, and a missions project. A focus group and surveys were used to help gain the necessary research. The methodology consisted of group discussions, creation of a manual, pre- and post-test surveys, field experiences, and observations. The results indicated that this project established structure for the ministry and enhances youth leadership for those youth who participated in youth activities and programs. The context for this project was at Martin Luther King Junior Senior High School, Detroit, Michigan. The focus was on grade point averages, scholastics, attendance, conduct, and faith enrichment. The results indicated a decline in the male students GPA, while scholastics, attendance, conduct, and faith enrichment made a slight increase. Given partnerships between churches and communities seldom exist; Ivanhoe implemented a teaching/learning context in partnership with other institutions to equip youth to deal with social, economic and spiritual challenges threatening their well-being and productivity. A qualitative approach using participatory observation, surveys, journaling, and spiritual formation lessons and activities was utilized. The hypothesis states that spiritually empowered youth internalize God's love and develop spiritual discipline and self-control needed to transcend and transform racial, social, and economic constraints.
