Twenty-four students were randomly selected to participate in a ten-week course in vocational guidance.  The participants were controlled for gender, age, and educational level. The program equipped students to understand the relationship between God's will and decision making, and to recognize God's vocational will for their lives.  The program included the historical, descriptive survey, and experimental methods of research. Using input about their personal issues, the role of God, and faith development, from both current adolescents at Crossroad and the staff who work with them, the project identifies the most pressing issues for these young people.  The discussion series addresses the concerns with residents who chose to attend.  The effectiveness of the project is measured by pre- and post-interviews with participating adolescents; by an ongoing diary of conversations; and by feedback from the residents and staff at Crossroad. Sexual minority youth who grow up in the church become alienated from the church as they discover their sexual orientation is different from the majority.  Currently, the only support systems for sexual minority youth are secular. Reconciling churches and clergy welcome sexual minority persons as part of their ministry. This ministry is a contrast to the current climate in our country, our culture, and our churches. Black males are fraught with negative societal perceptions in Alexandria and need support in positive self-esteem, moral, and spiritual persuasion.  They are victimized by poor education, poor economics, and a shrinking labor market.  Many young Black males are involved in a life of crime as the result of hopelessness. A group of young adults was brought together to model this reclaiming.  This was done through reading articles, watching movies, and especially through sharing the lives and stories of ordinary Barbadian folk.  The youth reported a tremendous awakening of themselves as spirtual beings. There was a greater sense of self-worth, especially relating from their inheritance as blacks.
