This method of generalized minstry reproducibility has produced sterile and ineffective churches that function in a way that is more similar to secular organizations that respond to industry trend rhat than rooted in the New Testament, reflecting the community of the Body of Christ.  The solution this situation is ministry reformation.  This project leads a church through a phase of minstry reformation as they discover their minstry purpose and identity through a shared leadership approach. The goal was to demonstrate and encourage a thorough integration so that organizational wisdom might be informed, anchored and enriched by scriptural teaching. The core biblical theme of hospitality was traced through Scripture, and juxtaposed with the four-lens approach of Bolman and Deal's Reframing organizations. Next, basic principles of ordained ministry are gleaned from known ancient and classic theologians and key documents like the Anglican Thirty-Nine Articles. A spiritual-ministries view identifying charismata as ministry roles was developed. The researcher concluded that spiritual gifts are roles Christians are called to fill; natural talents (identified through StrengthsFinder personality assessment) are critical factors in filling those roles. Spiritual strengths occur as natural talents are applied to spiritual gifts. The eight-session program (including interview, group instruction, a six-part fable, individualized feedback, action-learning, and reflection) was based on Jesus' principles of leadership development as evidenced in his development of the twelve disciples. Sixteen pastoral staff participated in the four-month program and were pretested and posttested using both quantitative and qualitative measurements. The program presented the biblical basis for authority and the role of leadership in the local church.  Although secular leadership material along with material written for spiritual growth was utilized, the Bible was the primary source for discussion.  The program gave the participants a broad view of church governmental systems, pastoral authority, and biblical leadership principles.  The program also assisted each participant in developing a leadership strategy for his or her ministry.  The program was taught in five sessions.
