The African American male is the one group that suffers from homicide in a staggering rate.  He is more likely to die from homicide between the ages of 15 and 44 than any other American group. By minimizing the ministry of the laity, it has lost contact with those outside of its influence.  Only with a unified ministry of an emancipated laity and an empowering clergy can the urban church faithfully participate in the transformation of society.  This theory was tested with a congregational workbook. The results indicated that each group of people had similar needs and thoughts, which were different for each site.
