Zion Church on how they can work together in preserving the pastor's life so they will have many joyful days of ministering to the people within and outside the church. The author researched this matter through a combination of group meetings, questionnaires, and conversations with laity and clergypersons. The project ends with recommendations for Union Grove and future pastors on enhancing the pastor's health and the importance of the pastors accepting personal responsibility for maintaining their own healthy lifestyle. The author randomly surveyed all twelve districts of the North Carolina Annual Conference and found that mentoring was desperately needed. Research validated and affirmed that mentoring was not available in any formal structure for ministers beyond ordination. A real case study with a mentoring team, practical helps, resources and personal stories were included. Increasingly, bishops have assigned priest as pastors to multiple parishes. This project studied the current shift in pastoral care given and pastoral care received that affects the ministers and their faith communities. The project engaged these pastors from the Diocese of Madison in a reflective consultation process on the phenomenon of pastoring multiple parishes using theological reflection. The model was a five-week Bible study intended to enhance awareness, understanding, and respect of pastors' spiritual authority, as well as to offer guidance in providing nurture and support to pastors.  The model was evaluated by denominational leaders, pastors, and lay persons.
