It is supported by a theology of ministry (biblical witness and historical overview) and an exploration of the nature of such programs. A model of training supervision is suggested. The collective feedback data of the trainers, a clergy peer observer, and the author based on his observation of video tapes of the sessions were used to evaluate the program's validity in increasing church members' self-confidence, pastoral identity, and competence as providers of pastoral care. The result was a significant increase in all of these areas."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128688030384128,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:03:47.152Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:09:41Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:04:27Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8333f899-1c18-44f3-ac14-5767bedbf3e8","accessControl_ssim":["e8531612-59c2-43cf-9cb6-cc88ae4375d6"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["An intentional model of ministry utilizing the concept of self-definition within family systems theory as a pastoral leadership design"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:09:40Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:00:08Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["818d0d09-920d-4d96-8f4b-c933d78e5ec0"],"hasLease_ssim":["477542bc-e143-4b01-be6e-777ae2c3a899"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Brian H Childs"],"year_tesim":["1990"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Raymond W Gamble"],"keyword_tesim":["Family systems theory"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Bowen, Murray","Clergy","Laity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Believing that ministers and congregations form a church family and that families have specific behavior unique to themselves, through family systems theory, a leadership model is designed to reduce or prevent ministerial burnout. The study examines leadership roles of ELCA interim pastors from 7 regions and addresses five developmental tasks of a congregation in search of a pastor.
