Discussions of hopes, fears, problems and reservations were analyzed and compared with Vatican II and post-conciliar theologies of the diaconate, presbyterate and church order.  The resulting theology involves the complementarity of roles of laity, diaconate, presbyterate and episcopacy in pursuing the mission of the church. Priests will only accept the diaconate when they understand why it was restored. Understanding--and definition--can be achieved through massive catechesis.
