The design of this project was to employ an online survey that utilized a seven point Likert Agreement scale to determine the spiritual condition of the surveyed. The result of the discovery was that the Church of God clergy have an overall compliance factor of 6.03 in their general adherence to the Practical Commitments. An overuse of power could lead to a negative, controlling environment where churches and people are harmed. An underuse of power could lead to a general malaise in the church: a lack of direction and passion for the Lord's work. This thesis-project was a leadership awareness study of the nature of power and authority in the role of pastoral leadership in which the biblical and theological perspectives on the issue of pastoral authority were explored. This lack of integrity has contributed to a multitude of dysfunctional clergy. Sexual immorality is not predicated on race, gender, status, personality, or intelligence and is ultimately the minister's choice. Having interviewed leaders from three Chinese churches and analyzed their by-laws, he shows that Chinese churches need to be aware of the negative impact of cultural background on their handling of such cases. This project focuses on the teaching and instructing of pastoral ethics and professional boundaries within a program of Clinical Pastoral Education. Presenting issues that surround this subject matter, the author offers his experiences of teaching a ten-week seminar on pastoral ethics and professional boundaries to a group of students enrolled in the Clinical Pastoral Education program of the Verdery Center, Atlanta, Georgia. Student evaluations and feedback were used to evaluate the structure of the seminar.
