This study employed a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with six pastors who were of non-denominational, Baptist General Conference, and Presbyterian Church in America affiliations. A qualitative study was carried out to explore the factors which encourage ministers to take sabbatical leave. This study suggests that the denomination needs to work at explaining the need for and benefits of sabbatical leave and to be more proactive in encouraging ministers. The author tested six different methods of creating clergy groups, searching for the most effective and simple to set up. Ideally, an in-person group brings the best results for accountability; however, online groups have much to offer in the relief of isolation.
