In many faith communities, these types of clerics have been preferred because of their resemblance to everyday people. The purpose of this project is to reframe or present differently definitions of what bivocational clergy and ministries look like through analysis of denominational and local church statistical data, archival documents, and participant interviews. Through this study the author challenged they current common definitions of what it means and looks like to be bivocational; suggesting that these definitions complicate the possibility of developing sustained, healthy, whole and holistic ministries because they ultimately cheapen the value of ministry. Many part-time pastors and church employees receive financial support, but spiritual and emotional support is lacking.  Bivocational ministers and their spouses were enlisted to participate in a support group.  The purpose of the group was to guide participants in developing supportive relationships with one another. As a result, participants were to grow professionally and personally.  The Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis and interviews with a professional counselor provided objective data for evaluation.  Case studies were used to help group members analyze and theologically reflect on each experience.
