The design of the project included the administration of a pre and post-testt questionnaire in a retreat focused group study, along with city and rural church facility tour by the participants. The most prominent goal was the participants increased their practice of unity. This research project addressed this deficiency. This research project examined two separate Dallas Theological Seminary Doctorate of Ministry pastoral leadership courses. The research method included a combination of questionnaires, interviews, and review of pertinent course materials. The courses chosen for this research were DM550 Effective Church Leadership (DM550) and DM521 Church Health, Leadership, and Multiplication (DM521). These two church pastoral leadership development courses currently and previously taught in the Doctorate of Ministry program at Dallas Theological Seminary were examined in order to identify the essential elements of a senior level strategic leadership development course that teaches church pastors how to lead and manage a local church. This project explored the essential elements of senior level strategic leadership to create a program to develop church pastors to lead and manage a local church. The essential elements included development and evaluation of a church's mission, vision and values, analysis and evaluation of a church's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, development of a strategic plan for implementing change, and developing a strategic plan for developing leaders. This author developed a six week program to assist in encouraging clergy and their parishioners in broaching this very important topic.  The author utilized narrative, pastoral, and relational theologies to support her research. Also the use of qualitative research was utilized in the form of personal interviews, focus group participation, observation, and the building of a sand tray that depicted the image of afterlife.  This author found that an inadequate response by clergy was founded.  Participants expressed very little education from the church on this topic. It assumes that healthy churches in urban Africa are both theologically and contextually reflective.  The project opens laying biblical foundations from Hebrew 12:23.  Contextual factors are then presented: urbanization, Maputo's history, globalization in Maputo, cultural contours, and a community analysis of one urban neighborhood.  Six contextual theology/ministry attempts are analyzed.  Fifteen theological institutions are summarized and the results of a survey of church planters are then presented. A qualitative design with semi-structured interviews of seven ministry leaders was utilized. The research focused on the four spheres of the social domain: relationship with God, self, others and the physical world. The doctrine of adoption was found to have such profound implications on the social domain that it is necessary that ministry leaders develop this doctrine in their discipleship plan. I used 5 point Likert scale questionnaires to glean information from 29 participants: 10 pastors and 19 ministers, to determine what ministers and pastors believed about training for prophets. Pastors and ministers strongly agreed that education and training for people with the gift of prophecy are important. Pastors agreed that they would likely recommend training and ministers agreed that they would attend a program for training. The author found four themes; control and choices, faith, family diagnosis, doing versus dying. I proposed that doulos be translated slave based on the Pauline assessment and modeling of this biblical doctrine.  Relevant data was gathered using a mixed-method approach to equip PR to parallel two motifs or models: slaves of Christ with slaves to sin who support the prosperity gospel heresy.  The slave language was challenging as PR consists of offspring of American slaves. Yet PR leaders agreed to participate in this project to dispel misunderstanding and encourage an examination of biblical teaching on this avoided topic. However, it is unclear how and where they are being equipped. The purpose of this study was to explore how career worship directors became equipped for long-term vocational worship ministry in the Reformed church. The study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with ten worship directors, analyzed in a constant comparative method. The research explored experiences from childhood through the early years of church work that developed their musicality, spiritual formation, leadership skills, and Reformed theology of worship.
