Developed from a consideration of the theological topics of the headship of Jesus Christ and union with Christ, the project includes a biblical-theological study of the three offices of Christ as Prophet, Priest, and King. It isolates specific aspects for understanding church leadership as participating with Christ as he leads his church. Increases in a pastor's self-described confidence and competency were reported in questionnaires at the conclusion of the training and at 1 and 3 months following the seminar.  A strong majority felt better prepared to work with mixed agenda couples (polarized as to the future of the marriage) and would recommend the training to others. Ministry leaders are likely to adopt the leadership style of unorthodox mentors if they have no formal theological education. Leaders nor formally trained are less likely to display transformational leadership behaviors. African American leaders were interviewed about higher education in their ministries. They were tested for a full range of leadership behaviors using the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire. A formal theological studies education was desired but not required by the leaders interviewed. A group of 15 assembled for a ten-week class that met for an hour each week to study scripture, conflict theory, and to create a member covenant for the Glenwood Church of Christ establishing the expectation of behavior during times of disagreement. This practicum equipped the members well in scripture, theory, and practice for handling congregational conflict well. The researcher conducted a literature review of homileticians, public speaking experts, and Bible commentators to investigate the problem of PSA and what can be done about it. Additionally, qualitative research was conducted in which the researcher interviewed experienced preachers who have suffered the symptoms of PSA and have experienced improvement in their condition. Working with clergy and churches in my region of South Los Angeles, the methodology included: congregational surveys, clergy interviews, sermon series, an online training course, and post-training follow-up. Zion Church is a project designed to address the lack of ministerial mentorship in the A.M.E. Zion Church.  The mentorship program developed through this project is designed to be used by pastors in the A.M.E. Zion Church to assist them in developing ministers under their pastoral leadership.  Research was gathered through a five-week evaluation process, interviews, surveys and group discussion which resulted in the creation and implementation of this model mentorship program.
