The interview questions focused on signs of initiative, insight, and spiritual growth occurring during the pastor's 4-month sabbatical.  The exercise did not produce a clear articulation of the parish's mission priorities. Training included six instructional sessions that lasted one and a half hours each. The sessions were taught from the text of Matthew 4:18-20; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 2 Timothy 2:1-7; Ephesians 4:29-32; John 15:5-8; and Matthew 9:16-17.  The sessions were presented in one-week intervals with assignments to personally apply the content between sessions. The six sessions included a common purpose, clear role expectations, solid relationships, team processes, leadership, and communication. The goals of this project were as follows: to research team building leadership skills in order to develop teaching plans to equip the staff in team ministry, to develop teaching plans in order to equip the staff in team building leadership skills, and to equip the staff to practice team building leadership skills. The professional goals of this project were to increase the project director's knowledge of team building leadership skills, and to increase the project director's skill in curriculum design. The eight-session program (including interview, group instruction, a six-part fable, individualized feedback, action-learning, and reflection) was based on Jesus' principles of leadership development as evidenced in his development of the twelve disciples. Sixteen pastoral staff participated in the four-month program and were pretested and posttested using both quantitative and qualitative measurements. After the preaching skills were identified, the project director developed a series of sermons on biblical stewardship incorporating research conducted on stewardship. The project director preached the series of sermons utilizing the identified expository preaching skills. The project director solicited feedback from a selected group of members of Ellaville Baptist Church via a sermon feedback form. This project examined two coaching tools, Gallup StrengthsFinder and World Harvest Mission Gospel-Centered Life, to determine if using them in combination improved team effectiveness to a greater degree than using either tool alone.  Seventeen participants on two core leadership teams from church plants in urban Philadelphia were trained with both tools.  The qualitative research was conducted by self-evaluation surveys that gathered  information before and after each phase of training. Therefore, Weinhold created a 'Healthy Boundaries' curriculum including a participant's manual for churches. Utilizing an evaluative research design, a one day workshop was offered to 12 lay persons and pastors. The workshop progressed from personal to pastoral to legal boundaries. Data analysis employed the spiral steps of qualitative research authored by Leedy and Ormord (2005).
