The thesis also describes how the Kvalificerad Fortbildning Predikan, KFP, came into being and how the cooperation with ACTS was developed.  At the end of the thesis there is a reflection on the author's own training for the ordained ministry in the Church of Sweden during the 1980s, and how profoundly he was influenced by the KFP and his stay in Chicago during the summer of 2003.  At the very end of the thesis there are three sermons by the author preached from the fall of 2003 and to March 2004. The author attempts to point out that there is a difference. Preachers are not mere communicators, but heralds of God's 'Good News.' This is a project aimed to teach expository sermons.    Chapter two reflects on the theology of preaching based on a high view of Scripture. Preachers are called and sent by God to proclaim a message gleaned from God's Word. How else would one dare to utter the words, 'Thus saith the Lord!'?    Chapter three consists of a literature review to emphasize the excellence of expository preaching. The principles of the why, what, when, where, who and how of preparing and preaching expository sermons are explained.    Chapter four outlines the teaching sessions and lesson plans based on Haddon Robinson's book Biblical preaching. Teaching session and plans are entirely flexible as long as Robinson's twelve stages are utilized. The weekly topics for study along with the rationale for each is given as well as classroom methodology.  Chapter 5 is an evaluation of the project. First were the many social issues that arose during group discussions, especially from students newly transplanted to the Boston, New England, area from other countries and how these issues impacted their personal spirituality. Second was the difficulty of some of these ministerial students in relating American methodology reflected in the reading material, with the overall cultural attitudes of their congregants who had been raised in other nations. The research material, as well as the information provided from the methodology utilized through systems thinking seeks to inform those of us desiring to develop a more diverse understanding in pastoral care in an increasingly multicultural society. The various literature and causal loop diagrams assisted in examining the spiritual, social, and emotional data needed to strengthen Mentored Ministry students in their pastoral roles in church and within their community. The resulting information revealed a clear need for those attending the class sessions and Peer Theological Groups to recognize a broader scope required in pastoral care as ministers within their various church and para-church positions. A training plan was developed utilizing available leadership materials and existing research. The training included seven didactic sessions covering the subjects of team leadership, servant leadership, personal leadership, team communication, team conflict, team spirituality, and team purpose/function. Each individual completed a spiritual gift inventory and participated in a consensus building activity. The team went on a weekend retreat which included one of the didactic sessions, and six different ropes course challenges. Research has demonstrated that few new graduates feel adequately prepared to step into the full-time preaching role required of a senior pastor.  Consequently, many new graduates become members of pastoral staffs in order to gain the experience and the skills needed to become a senior pastor.  Staff pastors who aspire to become senior pastors need further equipping and experience in homiletics.  Senior pastors have a unique opportunity to share the experience and expertise acquired through years of pulpit ministry. That experience and expertise may be shared through mentoring staff pastors in homiletics. Mentoring staff pastors in homiletics provides the fundamental principles of homiletics and a structured plan needed to equip an experienced senior pastor to successfully mentor a member of his pastoral staff in homiletics.  The manual is divided into three major parts, Mentoring in sermon preparation, Mentoring in sermon delivery, and Mentoring in sermon evaluation.  The manual is designed to provide individualized instruction for the staff members' specific needs. Chaplains minister to the first responders and support their work as an expression of commitment to and worship of God. The author has designed and implemented a training sequence for ministry teams with the purpose of improving productivity and cohesiveness. Data was gathered using the 'Teamwork Survey', a forced-choice instrument administered to participants prior to and after participation in training, as well as personal interviews.
