The project's hypothesis was supported.  Diversity in the design and delivery of sermons increased the effectiveness of preaching communication with listeners of differing cognitive style preferences. Dissimilar sermon delivery styles differed substantially in their degree of appeal to persons with contrasting cognitive style preferences.  How contemporary neuropsychological findings have affected communication theory were explored. This project tested the hypothesis that enhanced communication and improved personality awareness among spouses would enrich marriage relationships.  The methodology of this project included theological and social research in the areas of Christian marriage and communication.  Private couple/leader sessions and group sessions were used to implement this project. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, M-BTI Relationship Report, Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis, and Prepare-Enrich Inventory were utilized throughout this project. Three communication skills were covered in six weekly training sessions.  Those skills were verbal, nonverbal, and listening.  Evaluation of the experimental group was performed by means of descriptive survey methodology, simple statistical analysis, and critical pastoral reflection. Statistically significant improvement of the entire experimental population was not observed, although the parent participants separately did demonstrate measurable improvement. The particular focus is teletex, text transmitted by computer and telephone.  Communications theory is used to place this medium in context with other media.  ECUNET, an ecumenical teletex system, is explored to see if the theological and media presuppositions work in practice. This project was designed to improve the relationship between parents and teenagers by improving their communication skills.  It was a six-week course and used a praxis approach to learning. Parents and teenagers participated together in the class. Based upon pretest and posttest scores, adults in this project achieved a greater degree of improvement in communication skills than the teenagers.
