The Corinthian Baptist Church (Dayton, Ohio) Credit Union implements a consumer education workshop. Early concepts of trust versus mistrust are connected to the infant's needs being met regularly, lovingly, and satisfactorily by the primary person in the infant's life. Belief systems are healthy or unhealthy in proportion to the repetitive healthy or unhealthy situations that are encountered during one's development. Belief systems are not synonymous with ego development, but the two occur simultaneously. Understanding the concept of belief systems enabled the author to understand the clients who entered therapy with him. This understanding affects the way he listens, perceives and filters information, and conducts himself in therapy sessions. The term 'healing relationship' refers to the one-on-one relationship between therapist and client. Based on the concepts that ministry is for reconciliation, and listening is a vital ministry, the project sought to train lay church members in the art of creative listening. These trained listeners then called on other church members--especially the disaffected--in an attempt to achieve reconciliation. Two methods were used to evaluate the project: 1) statistical reports of the calls, which indicated that only a small percentage of disaffected members were reconciled to the church, and 2) personal interviews of the callers, which indicated that the program had merit apart from its success or lack of it in recovering inactive church members."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f3d74d9-8a9b-4580-a458-c2d78a76b977"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717049199493120,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:12:06.620Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:12:02Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:37:16Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8b677958-09e7-4bae-9a64-2cfc883b20d1","accessControl_ssim":["edac200b-a296-4e7a-86b4-8f06e6d4b723"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Ministerial evaluation as a basis for ministerial formation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:12:01Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:13:13Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1a57df4c-5086-4b44-a55b-812991ce5259"],"hasLease_ssim":["52ad05bd-b718-4723-96ab-db78eb71b8c9"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["L Howard Grimes"],"year_tesim":["1981"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Craig L Emerick"],"publisher_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University"],"subject_tesim":["Clergy--Religious life","United Methodist Church--Clergy","Vocation, Ecclesiastical","Communities--Religious aspects","United Methodist Church--Book of Discipline","Spiritual life","Church work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The problem which the writer addresses is the need in the church for a humane, effective way of evaluating the ministry of the clergy in such a manner that evaluation can be a help for formation.
