The author structured the program around the following keys to resilience: people, positivity, pliability, problem-solving, piety, and purpose. To address pervading local and cultural anxiety, the author provided congregational leaders with a set of workbooks designed to develop spiritual vocabulary and nurture spiritual growth. The test group included the elders and deacons of the Peachtree City Church of Christ in Peachtree City, Georgia. The focal point of the project was an eight-week leadership class. Two measurement tools were used: the General Self-Efficacy Scale Shearer and the General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale. Significant increases were recorded in understanding of purpose. Corresponding to this increased mission clarity were minimal elevations in self-efficacy. A total of twenty-six subjects participated in three weekend seminars. The researcher used a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to determine the results.
