After sensitizing the church to the need, the project directs a small group in seven weeks of intense evaluation, study, and review of personal relationships in the Bible and in the practical experience of the participants. The project administers a Congregational Systems Inventory and facilitates discussion about church dynamics. On the basis of that discussion church leaders divide into small groups to compose mission statements defining the mission and purpose of the congregation, and the larger group then reconciles the work done in the small groups to produce a common statement.
