The issue of leadership transition is becoming of more frequent concern within the local church. The continual growth in leadership turnover is causing traumatic experiences for not only the pastor in transition, but for the church congregation as well. While it is true that there exists a multitude of various resource guides, books, and strategies on the topic of leadership transition, many pastors and church congregations are still finding themselves unprepared and ill-equipped to endure a leadership transition of a pastor or ministerial leader without bearing some form of traumatic experience. The purpose of this project is to assist the local church body to be better prepared for a change in leadership by providing an effective leadership plan for a transition of leadership. The first two chapters draw an introductory portrait of ministry needs. The next chapter describes six phases of methodology necessary to achieve this goal, followed by a theologically constructed foundation in chapter four. The next two chapters use examples of church conflict found in the New Testament and describe the findings from survey analysis. Third, he implemented the course by training selected parents.  Participants attended five sessions on selected disciplines, and they took a pre-test and post-test to aid in evaluation. The corresponding chapters of this work are a combination of church and community history, a biblical/theological examination of the remnant, a consideration of the process of transition, and transition at Arlington Baptist church using a remnant of believers.  In terms of a new church rising from the ashes, the full potential has barely been realized. He looked at how the early church was organized, the main organizational structures today and the key role of servant leadership.  The present structure at Brunswick Street was examined and its strengths and weaknesses identified.  Surveys were conducted and valuable information for the present board and committee members was gained.  A small sample of in-depth interviews helped the author gain a more thorough insight on how Brunswick Street Baptist Church is organized.  From the research, the author concluded that a new model could be presented but because of the unknown, many were cautious and therefore the implementation of this new model should be done slowly and carefully.
