Peacemaking in the church is an unavoidable call for pastors and church members. They need to put into practice biblical, redemptive ways for peacebuilding as they respond to conflict. The Christian peacemaking approach requires spiritual discernment. The author presented such tools as biblical texts on conflict transformation like Acts 15 and 1 Corinthians 1, narrative theology and narrative leadership in order to claim the biblical faith in Jesus, the Crucified and the Mediator. These are utilized by sorting out 'competing stories' against the Christian narrative that conflicting situations often cause. In favor of the conflict transformation theory and practice, the author presented mediation processes such as the Circle Process that work well in the field of conflict transformation. Also the author stressed the practice of liturgical leadership among Christian mediators or peacemaking pastors and church members."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718763755470848,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:39:21.748Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:41:58Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:52:54Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"74ebbc8f-1f06-4afe-ae85-54b91bc7631f","accessControl_ssim":["04262e52-69ca-44f5-9f2a-f89685677855"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Developing lay leadership through Hanukkah Bible study in Heuksukdong First Methodist Church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:41:57Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:33:40Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["5f573876-d8ca-4457-9934-13d23ddbf5a5"],"hasLease_ssim":["94e6b835-9821-4781-8948-3133d0874a66"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Kyunglim Shin Lee"],"year_tesim":["2013"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The results showed strong catalytic leadership, leadership team ownership, consultant mentoring, strategic planning, and follow up training as common factors in the success of increased member engagement in serving."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Bethel Seminary (St. Paul, MN)"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["fccbc3d7-874c-42e3-8a20-621b107c56c7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132849551704064,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:09:55.889Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:19:41Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:59:42Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a5751a44-1682-4cab-aa68-632691df3df6","accessControl_ssim":["d82d385b-920a-4760-9a38-f9f15bbe3d9b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The well-planted church: vertically integrated and horizontally mutual"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:19:37Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:56:09Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["efefd8db-5a11-4639-93ae-19b323c90d58"],"hasLease_ssim":["d9ddf803-66a7-401d-b9d2-b463b642c40c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Westminster Seminary California"],"advisor_tesim":["David Powlison"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Kevin N Carson"],"publisher_tesim":["Westminster Seminary California"],"subject_tesim":["Congregations","Church work","Church growth","Church development, New"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This paper develops a model for church planting that provides a foundation for church ministry accomplishing two aspects of progressive sanctification. (1) A consistent, vertically-integrated ministry that recognizes the 'in Christ' relationship as sons/daughters of God and purposefully structures the church to foster that relationship in order to see life change (Christ-likeness). (2) The horizontal mutuality that exists between fellow believers in Christ and how that relationship fosters spiritual growth. This case study of Still Waters United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, was written to research the intentional multicultural vision which we call 'Christ culture' and the success of the congregation to build strong and committed relationships across cultures. The research and findings are based on the period from 1999 to 2013. Still Waters includes people born in North America, Brazil, China, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Vietnam, and Taiwan. Members of the congregation are dedicated to the 'Christ culture' vision which encourages them to find ways to submit their culture to the reign of Christ and place his prayer for unity above their own cultures."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129819114635264,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:21:45.839Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":436,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
