Considering that many churches are declining or have plateaued, this study sought to discover practical, effective strategies and techniques that have contributed to overall church growth by baptism and conversion. The author asked what these practices were, how they were taught, and how they were modeled by the leadership. The author's research preceding the case study gives a review and foundation from the early church's teaching and experience in evangelism, discipleship, missions, pastoral leadership, and church growth to the present. A closer look was given at the causes and effects of little to no obedience and commitment to the Great Commission. A significant finding in the case study was that even though the two selected churches were different in age of the church, style of worship, and emphasis on missions abroad, both placed high emphasis on the importance of conversion and baptism."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129657424216064,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:19:11.639Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:47:37Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:06:23Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b7ad0a48-a391-43c1-b153-840fb7029234","accessControl_ssim":["ecd633f4-9fd1-4fff-9802-7bf759423af3"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A scriptural and theoretical analysis of post-conversion follow-up"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:47:37Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:25:53Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["a2bfc8a5-d746-46e9-838f-77acb19e44d9"],"hasLease_ssim":["c0df5ad5-fb9f-45c0-b3e8-b3fdf2a9e0a4"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Enoch Wan"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Richard Leahy Gardner"],"publisher_tesim":["Western Seminary (Portland, OR)"],"subject_tesim":["Assimilation (Sociology)","Regeneration (Theology)","Spiritual formation","Conversion","Church membership"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study explores how follow-up can be done in biblically based, theologically supported, theoretically coherent, culturally relevant, and practically applicable ways that maximize and give honor to what God has done at the new birth and how he desires believers to grow spiritually.
