Yet, through video partnerships, these churches have a chance to be or become missional. The nature of these rural video partnerships has been to help existing but dying rural churches find support and facilitate its health and life. This project surveyed past and present video partners to help determine whether the partnerships were or are achieving those goals. The author contends that Paul's collaborative style can be a positive factor in promoting church revitalization.  A declining-membership suburban mainline-denomination congregation served as a case study for collaborative leadership in ministry.  The author, who was the pastor, served as a role model of a collaborative leader for co-workers who were in key lay leadership positions. Following an analytical framework suggested by Loren B Mead in The Once and Future Church, the case study confronts and analyzes issues of money, power, paternalism, organization, administration, and the role of judicatories in global church linkages. The project trains seven persons for partnership ministry and recruits 42 volunteers from eight congregations of the two associations to assist them. Through sharing of resources, human and financial, the two associations are able to plan and maintain effective ministries that meet a variety of needs for seasonal workers.
