To attain this, the author wrote a seminal guide entitled Masterculture.  Four families were chosen from very different cultural backgrounds, including American, Haitian, Chinese, and Guyanese.  The Masterculture seminar was then held over a period of three months.  It included weekly meals, Bible studies and studies in cultural anthropology. A team leader can enhance the value of the experience through careful preparation and vigorous leadership.  A biblical model of missional leadership was developed and applied to the organization and leadership of a work team to the Solomon Islands in 1993.  Recruitment difficulties and on-site conditions resulted in the omission of key elements in the leadership style of the team leader. Through a project of developing a Bible study, proposing a retreat, organizing a Korean culture night, participating in a joint worship service and fellowship, celebrating a joint Christmas cantata, and publishing to witness for Jesus Christ, the Living Well United Methodist Church was well developed as a bilingual model church in the Korean American community. This basis was applied to action research wherein the researcher taught and evaluated a course on cross-cultural leadership to a class of prospective cross-cultural leaders (students) at Calvary Bible College.
