The theological foundations for multi-ethnic congregations are presented. The complexities and strategies for preaching to multi-ethnic congregations are discussed. A manual utilizing this information on biblical unity and meeting its challenges is offered as a seminar tool for those wishing to train ministers to communicate effectively in order to build multi-ethnicity in their churches. This project addresses the hurt and pain of the minority group at Grace First Presbyterian Church as result of this change and the need to engage in the practice of healing and reconciliation. Utilizing ethnographic research as a pastoral practice, through practices of listening and discerning, the congregation will engage in co-authoring the future. Experienced multicultural team missionaries were provided with 12 team-related factors to be evaluated. The top three factors were distinguished as: Team management, dealing with conflict and inclusion in decision making. First, the project director researched existing intercultural church-planting and church-growth models in three North American metropolitan areas. Second, the project director researched three intercultural churches in metro Atlanta, where SIF meets. Along with an analysis of area demographics, the director presented these findings to a selected group of church leaders for approval. This case study of Still Waters United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, was written to research the intentional multicultural vision which we call 'Christ culture' and the success of the congregation to build strong and committed relationships across cultures. The research and findings are based on the period from 1999 to 2013. Still Waters includes people born in North America, Brazil, China, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Vietnam, and Taiwan.
