Different cultures constantly experience cross-cultural dynamics which challenge ministry to be sensitive to and reflective of the needs and concerns of cross-cultural society. Therefore, the role of ministry in rapidly changing pastoral contexts should be reexamined continuously to be effective cross-culturally. This project emerges out of a cross-cultural pastoral experience which provides tools and opportunities to discern critical issues in the ministry and to articulate a methodology for the ministry. The project envisions and suggests how ministry can be cross-culturally whole. The conclusion was drawn that pluralism in its most negative sense has infiltrated most Christian thinking. Thirty words-expressions were identified and developed as emanating out of Blueprints, a Catholic school leadership renewal process situated in western Canada. This paper includes an extensive comparison (written in French) of Alberta's vocabulary with that of a sister province, Quebec. The project also features a strong ecumenical dimension whereby Catholic schools are to promote genuine social pluralism."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716760743575552,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:07:31.527Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:04:06Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:26:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b17c450b-b422-4a96-a646-140f4cd8463b","accessControl_ssim":["f2daf8bd-5f6e-4f57-9bff-04f59f4e3b9b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Celebrating the urban church as teacher"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:04:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:15:24Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["6ffadd22-a234-414e-ba0b-f38689689387"],"hasLease_ssim":["95add8e9-d07c-40ef-9925-d27f0423697f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["Maria Harris"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Anne Campanella Reissner"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Cultural pluralism","Catechetics--Catholic Church","Christian education--Teaching methods","Catechists"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project addresses questions about the unique needs of persons engaged in the ministry of religious education in urban multi-cultural parishes and about the distinct elements of such ministry. In design and content, effort was made to provide an educational experience that integrated sound educational methodology and an appreciation of the indigenous beauty and culture of the participants. Research was made into the biblical and theological dimensions of pluralism, and the types, problems and needs of minority groups in the school. A report to college authorities recommended educational strategies, and approaches in worship, religious activities and pastoral care.
