A base for ministry was developed from the biblical concept of servant and the employment of historical and theological research. Evaluation of the plan developed was performed through questionnaires.  The evaluation was that this program increased the frequency of deacon visitation and assisted the deacons in developing a positive understanding of their work.  However, the congregation identified little or no change. The project led the deacons to discover their style for managing conflict, identified the types of conflict, examined the nature of church conflict, and presented various strategies which are effective for resolving church conflict.  The theological rationale for conflict ministry included three biblical case studies of conflict, the ministry of the diaconate, and a theology and practice of conflict management. The purpose of this project was to create a greater awareness of biblically based deacon ministry on the part of the congregation and to equip the deacons to become servant-ministers.  Two methods of research were employed: the experimental method and the descriptive method. With the combination of these two methodologies, the project was successfully accomplished. The training program included didactic seminars, counseling sessions, group discussion, case studies, and role play.  Experimental and descriptive research methodologies were used with control and experimental groups.  Statistically significant growth was measured in the deacons' understanding of senior adult needs, crime's impact on senior adults, and counseling senior adult victims.
