The small group leaders who have served for over 4 years have experienced fatigues and burnouts.  Prior to this project, the church did not have a process to help recovering fatigued leaders.  In response to this specific need, the candidate developed and implemented a training program that included lecture, mentoring, practice of various spiritual disciplines, sharing of experiences, and positive encouragement and feedback from peers to help the small group leaders to recover from fatigues and burnouts.  This program prepared the leaders to serve the Lord with renewed strength and spiritual vigor. In the course of 3 months, participants and the candidate learned skills and attitudes to spirituality stay fresh and strong by seeking intimacy with the Lord through exercising various spiritual disciplines. The project's research purpose was to increase congruence of professed intention and behavioral engagement in reported practice of self-chosen spiritual disciplines by ministry leaders within New Zealand evangelical churches. The researcher's biblical, theological, historical, and applied developmental theory investigations significantly shaped the twelve-week seminar's design and delivery. Seminar related data, assessment and measurement gathered through pre- and posttesting and structured post-seminar interviewing were triangulated. This study, then, is an attempt to study and understand the private use of four inward disciplines from the larger list of spiritual exercises.  This study focuses on silence and solitude, Bible study, meditation and prayer.  It is also an attempt to understand how each discipline can contribute to personal transformation.  Lastly, it is an attempt to discover how to develop a practical plan for integrating them into everyday personal practice and into church
