Then, he researched existing disciplemaking methods to determine best practices and used a variety of strategic planning models to develop a disciple-making strategy  for Lake Mystic Baptist Church. The priority of any Christian church should be discipleship. Without discipleship training, evangelism, missions, worship, and Christians engaging in fellowship with one another, the church’s health will diminish. The mission of the church is to “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations” (Matt. 28:19). Because of this God-mandated mission, a curriculum for equipping members of the church to become disciple-making leaders is essential for longterm church growth and health. I trained selected Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church members to disciple new, immature Christians, and other church members who want to grow in their Christian faith. I developed the discipleship training by researching the area of discipleship and synthesizing the information into a discipleship curriculum to equip the selected members with essential disciple-making skills. The pastor of New Harmony Baptist  Church researched topical preaching, doctrine, and discipleship to prepare messages for the congregation about the specific topics of the doctrines that are foundational to discipleship. He prepared his findings in annotated bibliographies, reports, sermon briefs, and sermon manuscripts. He worked with a test group within the congregation to determine deficiencies in their understanding of discipleship and then brought a series of sermons to fill in the gaps in their understanding. The first step involved research of FBCS’s Annual Church Profile to determine attendance trends from 2013 to 2022. The project director then selected a student and adult disciple-making strategy team to whom results of research were presented. Utilizing the equipping model, the project director equipped selected members of Covenant Baptist Church with the necessary skills to make personal spiritual intimacy practices an integral part of their relationship with God. The project director researched the field of spiritual disciplines and determined essential personal spiritual intimacy practices: Bible reading, prayer, and solitude. The project director developed a curriculum that was designed to take the selected group of church members through an equipping workshop. He evaluated the effectiveness of the workshop in addressing the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains of learning utilizing a pretest, a posttest, a self-report questionnaire, and an opportunity for reflections. The project’s third phase involved the project director leading a strategy team to develop a discipleship strategy for adults. I first determined MCBC’s current discipleship practices by means of a Spiritual Growth Assessment and then compared those current practices with existing discipleship strategies to identify the best discipleship practices. I then created a strategy team composed of church members of various ages and their purpose was to discover the best discipleship strategy for the church based on the best discipleship practices identified. The strategy was thenpresented before the church for approval.
