The methodology required identification of personnel needs, equipment needs, start-upcosts, marketing plan, referral methods, and origination of printed forms.  Methodology was tested, refined, and evaluated during actual mediations. The criteria to measure this are theological soundness, liturgical consistency, and pastoral effectiveness.  This study includes an overview of cultural and church responses to divorce, a comparison of Catholic and Lutheran theologies of marriage, an exegesis of biblical divorce texts, a local study assessing participants' evaluation of a ritual experience, and a theological discussion applying a theologia crucis and the law and gospel paradigm to the issue. This project presents one method of dealing with this problem.  The type of therapy provided and examined in this context is group therapy sponsored by the church.  The theological, psychological and practical implications of this therapy are examined as to their effects upon the group in general and the individual adolescents participating in the group.  Case studies are also presented as a way of examining the group's effectiveness.
