Chapter 1 introduces the problem of divorce in Walton County, Florida.  Chapter 2 presents the biblical and theological rationale for the project. Chapter 3 examines the planning process for the project.  Chapter 4 describes the implementation process. Chapter 5 describes the two methods used to evaluate the project. Using attachment theory, grief studies, and family theory, the project views divorce, single parenthood, and remarriage as a process of mourning and recovery.  Divorce both necessitates and interferes with the usual mourning process.  Unfinished mourning alters expectations about remarriage and potentially hinders the formation of stepfamilies.  Interviews with remarried couples and case material from the author's counseling experience illustrate the theory.
