Using attachment theory, grief studies, and family theory, the project views divorce, single parenthood, and remarriage as a process of mourning and recovery.  Divorce both necessitates and interferes with the usual mourning process.  Unfinished mourning alters expectations about remarriage and potentially hinders the formation of stepfamilies.  Interviews with remarried couples and case material from the author's counseling experience illustrate the theory. The methodology required identification of personnel needs, equipment needs, start-upcosts, marketing plan, referral methods, and origination of printed forms.  Methodology was tested, refined, and evaluated during actual mediations. An eight-week course for a group of fifteen parents was developed and implemented, covering such topics as communication, discipline, and faith development.  Pretests and posttests were administered to the group members.  The posttest results revealed increases in the awareness of some important factors for parents affected by divorce.  The responses showed especially favorable reactions to the relational aspect of the group.
