M. E. Zion Bicentennial hymnal. Key considerations were: How a companion could support spiritual benefits of hymns for worship; how a companion would support needs of worship leaders and congregants; the necessity of music knowledge for ministry; and how background information of a hymn affects appreciation for the sermon. The study was carried out at faith A. M. E. Zion Church, Atlanta, GA. The concept of the risen Christ as the beginning of the new creation was used to affect the participants' formation in four areas: care for material creation, care for our physical bodies, proper understanding of God-centered worship, and continual dependence on Christ our Shepherd. Participants were tested before and after the project and showed much of the desired formational improvement.
