Biblical references for giving are considered in context and for application in a postmodern world. Stewardship's development is traced to its formation at the height of 'modern' confidence in humanity's ability to master money and economic systems. This confidence is contrasted with Jacques Ellul's analysis of money's ability to control human lives and divert them from God's purposes. A stewardship campaign that is based on postmodern principles is descibed, and its effectiveness evaluated. This study concludes with a biblical and postmodern view of stewardship for transfoming both giving and giver."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130312329134080,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:29:36.205Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:00:58Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:57:30Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b1270ed3-172e-4a3a-b6d3-0d0303b4bbfc","accessControl_ssim":["794d6b02-b638-4d92-8f44-79ea68267436"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Making a gospel impact through an NGO on the economy of northern Greece"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:00:57Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:14:45Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["030ffaa8-caba-4cb1-ae05-eadfc713592a"],"hasLease_ssim":["36cee8ea-05e1-4e7c-a73f-2e9fa6449f9d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Peter Kuzmic"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"location_tesim":["Greece"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Ingatius Meimaris"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Economics--Religious aspects--Christianity","Business ethics","Non-governmental organizations","Economic conditions","Social conditions"],"language_tesim":["English"],"alternative_title_tesim":["Making a gospel impact through a Non-Governmental Organization on the economy of northern Greece"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis-project deals with an NGO and how it impacts economic structures that lack a sound ethical basis of operation. In order to answer this question, the following topics will be researched in order to determine which of the major economic systems best adheres to the biblical material: stewardship, freedom, work, justice, mercy and the economic systems. The goal of this thesis project is to create a seminar on the Christian worldview of economics that can be used to educate Christians about biblical economic principles and to survey Christians about their worldview of economics in relation to the marketplace. I expect the seminar to help Christians make a stronger connection of their faith to work. The seminar was designed for Heartist Ministries, which is my own para-church worldview training and apologetics ministry, but it can also be easily adapted for a church Sunday School curriculum or formatted for an at home small group Bible Study program. What does the Baptist Church need to prepare for the members of the mega-churches who leave because they are disillusioned and/or disgruntled with the prosperity movement?"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128149025619968,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:55:13.118Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:09:41Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:21:48Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"eacd3fdb-a2f4-4ad6-b1ee-7d1e9e9d249f","accessControl_ssim":["a6bbc19e-f0bd-4936-bdd0-fe18531b21d0"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Equipping a select group of Georgia Baptists to become volunteer financial consultants to assist churches in biblical financial planning"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:09:38Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:51:09Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["a01c2f58-3340-49f9-b0e8-d06de0cb8b60"],"hasLease_ssim":["35ab43c2-ce21-42cd-985c-eef112fb0a2c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Joel B Sherrer"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Keith T Hamilton"],"publisher_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Economics--Religious aspects--Christianity","Church finance","Baptists--Government"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project equipped a select group of Georgia Baptists as volunteer financial consultants to assist churches in biblical financial planning.
