The focus group participated in a regimen of training sessions, homiletical endeavors and practicum with the aim of enabling the praxis of unity in the church and the community. Although there have been great strides accomplished in the meeting of hearts and minds of denominational leaders, implementation of dialogue has not been effectively performed in the context of local congregations, depriving the church of a vibrant means of theological and relational growth. With the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Bermuda half its former size, and the United Church of Canada struggling with shrinking resources, both question the value of union.  This project proposes changes which address past wounds and will enable the relationship to fulfill its original ecumenical mission of proclaiming Christ's ministry of reconciliation.  The project examines the history of the fifteen-year conflict, as experienced by persons involved, in light of ecumenical literature.
