This exploratory study utilized qualitative and quantitative measures to examine perceptions and evaluations of faith formation curriculum. Identical pre- and post-study surveys using the Lijert scale were distributed to accurately trace parental perceptions regarding explicit growth during the use of the new curriculum. The multi-dimensional qualitative research process was grounded in solid understandings gleaned from within the Christian tradition with respect to theological, biblical, historical and psychological disciplines. Basic assumptions examined included spirituality of children, blessing, holiness, worship, prayer, community, holy listening and Sabbath. Spirituality was defined as relational consciousness encompassing four categories: child/self, child/people, child/world and child/God. Five videotaped sessions documented evidence of the categories of relational consciousness. The evidence of increased spirituality was triangulated with pre/post parent input, researcher observations, and previous research. Recognizing the faith needs of families with young children, five congregations in Naples, Florida, formed a consortium to develop and implement a collaboratively designed project, utilizing pre- and post-testing to determine attitudinal changes regarding preschool ministry as an avenue to community evangelism. The setting for this practicum is a 1200-member United Methodist Church in a county seat town of 25,000 in the Arkansas Delta. Using the structure as mandated by the Discipline of the United Methodist Church, a task force was formed and charged with creating the design and its implementation. The practicum was conducted over a six-month period with the task force meeting with the pastor for an extensive period of six weeks.  The task force, using a shared praxis approach, dealt with issues related to faith development for both preschool children and adults. The research method involved studying the background of early childhood education; how preschoolers learn; how they learn religion; and a survey of a preschool in Yardley, Pa. The results indicate that such schools are indeed beneficial to community and church and can be set up in churches of almost any size, regardless of
