Will they be able to live more consistently as Christian disciples in the world? This project seeks to answer these questions a pretest/posttest questionnaire administered to 68 laypersons.  The experimental group of 34 persons received six hours of theological instruction. The control group of 34 persons received no instruction. When they are respectfully encouraged to accept or reject the historical-grammatical truth they can discover it through a hands-on learning experience with the Bible that is related directly to their culture and life. This project conducted inductive study of the Bible with 16 Native American students attending American Indian College in Spring 1995. Within the context of the priesthood-of-the-believer doctrine, this means that, as priests who share in the privileges of righteousness because of our relationship to Christ, Christians must incorporate the commensurate responsibilities for faithful living and service.  A local church educator should provide a Christian education plan that fosters faith maturity and is indigenous to resources, holistic in strategy, and balanced in scope. The project begins with an exposition of Lesslie Newbigin's thought and then develops a teaching guide for Presbyterian newcomers.  Newbigin provides analysis and resources that are helpful in reaching newcomers who are strongly influenced by a secular worldview.  Newbigin's thought on the Enlightenment, religious pluralism, and the Bible is explored. Two chapters in the teaching guide are then presented, one on pluralism and one on the Bible. The ten-week program consisted of a combination of group activity and lecture.  The group completed an open-ended narrative using selected vocabulary words.  Each member received five vocabulary words to contribute to the story line in successive group order using one word at a time. Lectures consisted of specific age-related topics of puberty. Descriptive survey methodology and statistical evaluations were used with an experimental and control group. The methodology in this project to measure the improvement of the marriage enrichment was for the experimental and control groups to take two tests: a pre-test before the program, and a post-test three months after the end of the program.
