Leader and couple manuals were developed.  Besides study and research, the director drew upon his own personal experience and knowledge of Hispanic culture.  The training was carried out through pre-retreat examinations and questionnaires, a three-day training and enrichment retreat, and follow-up evaluations. Biblical and practical marital instruction can help strengthen the marriages of the students at Southeastern College who are facing pressures which are threatening their marriages.  Pressures needing attention include communication, role expectations and time management.  Student couples worked to develop biblical and practical material to strengthen their marriages.  The couples' marriages were strengthened but will require more work. By using such things as lectures on optimal family functioning, sculpting, circular questions, homework, and redescription questions, it seeks to help couples become aware of and change the family of origin relational processes which inhibit greater marital satisfaction.  Relational processes in six areas are focused on: roles, emotional expression, individuation, power distribution, communication, and subsystems. After presenting the historical development of the Order and defining the charism of its founder, the thesis explores the faith development and spirituality of young adult males who comprise college councils. Contemporary ecclesiastical documents, particularly Vatican II's 'Decree on the laity,' are employed to provide a theological background and understanding of laity, their mission and need for empowerment. Methodologically project data was derived from survey and interview material using one school as a case study.  The statistical analysis was related to church-relatedness and coherence by reviews of literature in the fields of theology, epistemology, faith development, church-relatedness, and college curriculum development. The findings supported the important role of curricular and co-curricular coherence in church-related higher education.
