The report consists of a summary of the development of the project, its design, its hermeneutics, and the theology implicit in the program, particularly the theology of hope by Juergen Moltmann. The guiding question is 'How can the cultures of late Generation X undergraduates, their approaches to reflection, and Ignatian spirituality contribute to transformative reflection on service?' The methodology included a pretest, a packet of learning activities for the purpose of pre-workshop preparation, a workshop, the post-test and the use of the Delta Model for future action planning and transfer of learning. To answer this, a six-month project involving teaching, preaching, spiritual formation, study and discussion was undertaken to help the congregation learn more about their Wesleyan heritage and reclaim relevant portions of it. Surveys at the beginning and end of the project were used to measure learning growth. A sermon series, a small group experience, and other awareness opportunities were utilized. The New Age religious emphasis upon channeling will be contrasted with the Christian worldview and a method of pastoral ministry consistent with the polity of a Baptist church.  The purpose is to make a Southern Baptist congregation aware of the challenge of New Age channeling and to teach the congregation, through a selected study group, how to respond to the challenges of New Age theologies and why the response is necessary.  First, the project will focus on familiarizing the participant group from the Calvary Baptist Church of Inola, Oklahoma, with the claims of channeling.  Second, the project will endeavor to develop a faithful biblical hermeneutic so that the study group can respond to these claims. Ultimately, the combined purpose is not only to understand, but also to be able to answer the treat presented by channeling to the Christian church.
