The research focuses on eight passages in 1-2 Corinthians where Paul speaks of his own suffering, determining how he suffered and how he responded to that suffering. Paul's responses are developed into 6 attitudes and 3 actions as the Christian's response to suffering. The survey was conducted before and after the training program among 30 new church members and 30 lay leaders. Through the cases study in Hong Kong, the process of counseling will be described. A Sunday school course of 8 chapters are introduced. The author made a theological case for the study of martial arts style self-defense by faithful Christians. Through action research and narrative inquiry, critical events in the workplace journeys of individuals are heard, recorded, and evaluated in test groups. Results show that as the storytellers gained new insight through recalling and reflecting on workplace episodes, test groups found their stories effective in stimulating meaningful dialog on work. From this project, a narrative pathway paradigm has emerged to identify, record and disseminate workplace testimonies as a small group curriculum.
