A program evaluation instrument was prepared in the form of a survey that was included in every teacher's manual of the beginner, primary and junior curriculum during the summer 2005 quarter (June, July, August). Through the use of thirty definitive statements and three open-ended questions, the evaluation instrument examined the quality and effectiveness of four areas of the curriculum as observed by the teacher: the teacher's manual, the learner's manual, the make and take portion, and the visual aids. The author found that the curriculum researched did not help the teacher teach the Bible as accurately, plainly, age-appropriately and applicationally as it should. In practical terms, this means the study found strengths to be built upon and weaknesses to be corrected."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130811453407232,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:37:32.207Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:13:44Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:32:04Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"2386459e-2cb1-48ee-95de-2cb9414e9eb2","accessControl_ssim":["15a0d8fd-55d5-4a13-8dab-bb29ee910704"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Equipping a select group of members to develop and implement an ongoing seeker-sensitive worship service for First Baptist Church, Pontotoc, Mississippi"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:13:44Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:10:54Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["89ae4e89-b181-4723-be45-412bcc22e234"],"hasLease_ssim":["2c573645-d2c7-4365-bbab-72f3e3b27839"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Joel B Sherrer"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Lewis H Harrell"],"publisher_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Public worship--Baptists","First Baptist Church (Pontotoc, Miss)","Christian education","Education--Curricula","Emerging church movement"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project was to equip a select group of members of First Baptist Church of Pontotoc, Mississippi, to implement a seeker-sensitive service. While the major cause of this is a lack of biblical, theological truth applied at the pastoral level, the result of it is the disappearance of an important spiritual foundation necessary for the development and maintenance of spiritual stability in the modern church. The practice of worship in the Reformed Church initially was driven by a perspective fixed on a high view of God and characterized by a formal-liturgical style. That historical heritage was lost over time because changing perspectives allowed the introduction of a variety of styles that were heavily influenced by social and technological developments. These new and different worship expressions increasingly have ignored the important and unchanging biblical view of worship in favor of yielding to a demand for a more emotional experience. More importantly, the current trend is causing the church to become accustomed to the absence of an applied theology of worship. That theology is necessary for making good decisions regarding appropriate expressions of worship in the personal life and in the life of the local church for years to come. An examination of the biblical data from a historical and grammatical perspective revealed that worship is the expression of a Christian's commitment to a lifestyle of venerating God through an unceasing remembrance of his glory, a willing submission to his lordship, and a conscious life of spiritual service. Thus, the worship of God is designed to be the single most dominant spiritual feature of one's personal life and therefore the faith life of the church throughout the generations. This understanding is essential to promoting and sustaining healthy faith, so it must constantly be reaffirmed in the evangelical church. The most effective way to do that is in the training phase of present and future church leaders. The development and evaluation of a seminary training course on The Theology and Practice of Worship is designed to meet that need."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130749623074816,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:36:33.241Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:47:10Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:53:37Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"7962da99-c1e0-4c4b-ba04-aed9ef60753a","accessControl_ssim":["66cf7aff-829a-491f-bcac-4a633b19dd6d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The contextual and narrative uniqueness of the college and university experience captured through Bible study"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:47:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:42:10Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["dda4d1cf-c8d9-4eda-9809-4db64c4045d4"],"hasLease_ssim":["c8804728-0c22-4c1a-a18b-07db68fdc77a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Denise Dombkowski Hopkins"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Shiloh is an old, traditional, southern black Baptist institution whose historical prominence emerged because of her dynamic Christian education ministry, of which Sunday School had dwindled to nil. Eager to revitalize the Christian education ministry and energize the persons of auxiliaries and ministry leaders, the pastor petitioned to boost a dying ministry. An initiative involving all church leaders was launched to address the Christian education needs of Shiloh. The timeline for this project was originally six weeks, but developed into an additional seven weeks to more effectively meet the objectives of the project. Phase I of the project focused on assessing the Christian education ministry, defining roles and leadership training. Phase II specifically concentrated on Sunday School teacher training centered on biblical background knowledge, Christian doctrine, teaching methods and addressed a variety of learning styles. This project resulted in a Christian education curriculum within which leadership development and church school teacher training were key efforts in realizing the project's objective."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131138601779201,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:42:44.200Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":296,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
