The report describes the setting, First United Methodist Church of Champaign, Il, and gives the church's reasons for considering a computer.  The report tells of the decision to install a computer, training in its use, the gathering and loading of data, problems encountered, and the contribution which the computer has made to church administration.  The experience is compared with that of 19 other large churches using computers. The Presbytery of Lake Michigan tested applications of computer support for selected facets of its administrative and managerial functions.  These applications included word processing, financial management, and the development of personnel files and mailing lists.
