addresses the question of how a large church can best pursue ethnic diversity. Using qualitative research methosd the researcher demonstrated that the best practices found among secular organizations in pursuing diversity are effective when implemented in a large predominately white church. The impetus of this project was to explore the marital satisfaction of different racial groups by researching the explanations given by happy couples for the reasons of their marital success.  The participating couples in this project revealed many new insights to both similarities and differences when comparing each of the ethnic marriage cultures involved in the research.  When comparing the marital satisfaction of Christian couples from four ethnicities, Christianity was the determining influence on their marital happiness and stability. Bible application is prescriptive. What happens when the preacher faces a multiethnic audience? How can the preacher communicate the truth of scripture, if the audience doesn't share the common characteristics that facilitate communication and understanding? This fact of multi-ethnicity in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney has led to the planting of ethnic-specific congregations based on McGavran's Homogeneous Unit Principle.  This thesis challenges the HUP model by examining the biblical theological framework of Christ's new humanity and understanding evangelism, conversion and church-planting with that framework. Field research shows that ethnic-specific church planting brings immaturity, ethnic insulation, and frustration for Anglican rectors.  A multi-ethnic church-planting strategy is God's solution, pursuant to the eschatological picture of Revelation
