It asked if the historical/theological narrative mandated a balance, how is it reflected and whether the contemporary church seeks to implement such in its ongoing worship.  A qualitative design, using semi-structured interviews with eight pastors and one worship director was implemented. It then traces some of the history of short term missions to the present.  A church-based study was conducted through a questionnaire sent to every EPC congregation.  The project also records information from interviews with leaders from there EPC congregations who seem to be doing short-term missions well. The study attempted to discover the impact or effects of such an experience--solely from the vantage point or perspective of the pastor. As such this study was intended to be an impact study and the research methodology qualitative in nature. It was the author's hypothesis that they did not. A qualitative research project was conducted, which included a literature review and interviews with twelve EPC pastors all of whom had at least ten years of ministry experience. This study confirmed the author's initial belief that preaching through Revelation is being neglected by EPC pastors. factor's such as absence of significant seminary training in Revelation, a perceived lack of practical application for today's listener and a deficiency of pastor's personal study in the book were all contributing factors. The research team developed a survey to assess the presence of eight health characteristics: intentional evangelism, mobilized laity, transforming discipleship, engaging worship, passionate spirituality, empowering leadership, authentic community, and effective structures. The health was then compared to particular indices of growth. A positive relationship between health and growth was discovered. This training conference causes significant, positive changes in knowledge and attitudes among individual participants, but it does not, within six months after the training, bring about any concrete plans and activities for planting and renewal of churches. Because the project is not able to continue monitoring and encouraging concrete activities of participants, gains made by the conference are not consolidated. The training itself does not appear to be a sufficient catalyst to stimulate a church-growth
