The object of this pastoral essay is to make policy recommendations about evangelism based upon this writer’s interpretation of the Pauline conception of reconciliation as a major biblical theme that has significant implications for evangelism. The purpose of the project was to make the transition from pastor-led to lay-led AIG groups as an ongoing strategy for evangelism in the local church.  The goals of the project were achieved by the following: 1) prepared a paper on the theology of evangelism reflecting the author's interaction with others in the field; 2) formed three pilot lay-led groups; 3) trained six couples; 4) prepared necessary assessment instruments; and 5) kept journal describing feelings and reflections. The class studied Acts 1-15 in order to discover the living fellowship of the disciples in the early church.  The separate evening sharing group enabled the class members to speak of their own faith, to speak of their journey with Christ and to design a program of outreach. The practicum had two objectives: to discern, through a detailed survey, the contextual factors governing the Christian witness of Korean-Americans; and to develop a method of evangelism which could communicate the gospel to those beyond the church. In Africa, where oral tradition, communalism, illiteracy, and poverty prevail, it is imperative that the church make use of the media seriously in its task of evangelism.  Uganda is discussed as a model for such an evangelism project through the broadcast media. The writer evaluates materials recommended by James Kennedy's Evangelism Explosion, Campus Crusade for Christ, American Baptists, Southern Baptists, United Methodists, and those recommended by the three major Lutheran bodies.  He demonstrates that many of the materials recommended by non-Lutherans are consistent with the teachings of the confessions while some of the 'Lutheran' materials are not. The student worked in an inner-city church for two years during which three faith-sharing groups were established.  Through repeated development of such groups, this method proved to be very effective in communicating the essentials of the gospel.  Such a method of outreach must be conducted by a local congregation whose priority to evangelism is motivated by the evangel itself.
