The revival methods at the heart of the controversy, along with the question of human ability in salvation, are analyzed from a biblical perspective. The methods of the two most prominent mass evangelists of the last sixty years, Billy Graham and Luis Palau, are also examined. A historical analysis of Christian approaches attempted during the past thirteen centuries have failed to adequately equip Christians to become more effective witnesses with Muslims. This research attempts to identify principles of witness with Muslims and some possible starting points for developing a Christian theology addressed to the Muslim's frame of understanding. Social analysis, study of urban Christian literature, relevant biblical texts, hexagoning and implementing ministries around the felt needs of urban Christian leaders were the methodology.  This research reveals that churches in Boston and Springfield are multiplying. It develops on the assumption that Discipleship for leadership provides the biblical basis for developing disciples who go on to become disciple-makers. Although time restraint makes it impossible to measure the effectiveness of this study in developing disciples who go on to become disciple-makers, this evaluation measures an individual's growth in conviction, intentionality, and resolve for making disciples. These factors include: spiritual preparation, leadership buy-in, the on-going communication of vision and philosophy, a healthy launch, congregational buy-in and successfully passing on the philosophical DNA of making disciples. The on-going communication of vision and philosophy was determined to be the most critical factor in this change process. This study also relates these factors to John Kotter's eight-stage process of change from his book Leading change (1996). It attempts to describe the community of evangelicals in Rwanda understanding and practice of holistic evangelism. Both qualitative study and quantitative survey were conducted and data were analyzed. The findings support the view that there is need to develop a more effective and viable approach in training church leaders. Prime's The power of prayer and Talbot Chambers's The noon prayer meeting of the North Dutch Church, Fulton Street, New York, this study seeks to expand the narrative to include the historical material of the time.  This project includes an examination of literature seeking relevant opinions and insights into the Fulton Street prayer meetings.  The foundational historical framework for the revival is presented in two elements.  First, an examination is made of the historical context of the revival, including changes in the United States from 1812 to the Civil War, focusing on the economic, geographic, political, journalistic, and social elements. These sermons are designed for use during an outreach camp setting. The author reviewed the state of adolescent culture and wrote a theological case for proclamation and incarnational ministry. A basic framework for evangelistic message sequences is offered and a message sequence along with seven manuscripts were written. In August 2004, these sermons were presented during four camp settings. They were revised and presented again in April 2006 and August 2006 during three camp settings. Christ has commanded us to be 'learners' in a community of discipleship.  Direct and indirect surveys and case studies indicate that ALMA marriage encounter is effective.  Effective evangelism through receptor-oriented, relational, incarnational witness is a process.  Effective discipleship is related to cross-cultural communication, dialogue and historical and cultural context.
