This will be done by developing and initiating a ministry plan for equipping members of First Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Arkansas. This local church will serve as the platform for this ministry plan. The ministry plan includes preaching messages on evangelism and the importance of discipleship. It involves teaching a seven week class to equip volunteers to evangelize Chinese students, including lessons on the biblical foundation for the need of salvation, the cultural and social needs of Chinese students, effective models for ministry, relationship building, the importance of witnessing, the introduction of tracts and videos, and the importance of baptism. The time frame for the ministry plan will begin with a two week plan for preaching the messages, nine weeks for recruiting ad equipping volunteers with an interest in Chinese student ministry, and one week for evaluation. Phase one will consist of the establishment of a group composed of ten to twelve postmodern persons. This group will be surveyed, interviewed, and will participate in a group discussion of issues relevant to the postmodern. The project leader will facilitate these meetings over a ten-week period. This group will seek to add new members weekly through the outreach efforts of the participants. Attendance records will be maintained, and the assimilation of postmoderns into the church will be measured via the Bible study ministry of the church. In the second phase a group of twenty to twenty-five church leaders will be assimilated to help evaluate how the church is responding to the needs of postmoderns. These participants will be surveyed and interviewed and will participate in a discussion of issues identified by the postmodern participants. The knowledge of these church leaders will be measured via pre and post tests. Phase three will be implemented in the worship service through a series of sermons designed to address the needs of a postmodern generation. Participants of both groups will conduct an analysis of the worship. The purpose of this project is to develop and enhance the church's efforts to engage postmoderns and to claim the postmodern context for Jesus Christ. It is built upon a biblical framework that offers the Christian worldview as plausible and credible to the postmodern person. Training included five instructional sessions in five successive weeks with assignments weekly geared to the personal application of session content.  The first two training sessions explored the elements of basic church greeting ministry and the expansion of greeting ministry responsibilities as presented in current church growth literature.  The third session examined the challenges of church greeting ministry as it is directed towards the incoming contemporary generations.  In the fourth session, themes were explored to prepare participants to share with church guests an expanded knowledge of Beth-el Baptist Church. The author combines practical suggestions for contextual preaching with perspectives from theological, missiological, biblical, and cultural studies. He claims that preaching is more effective when it is rooted in the context of the audience. The author illustrates this claim by analyzing four sermon samples, which embody some aspects of the religio-cultural ethos and communication forms of the Yoruba.
