The project director began this project with a discussion with Dr. Wayne Harvey, Director of Missions of the Santa Fe River Association, by researching the field of evangelism, and by the administration of a survey in High Springs, Florida, to determine if churches are doing marketplace evangelism. The project director researched various evangelism materials to determine which evangelism skill development would have the most potential to be effective in marketplace evangelism. After reviewing the literary work in the field of evangelism, analyzing the results of the survey, compiling a list of evangelistic skills, and the development of a comparison grid, the project director developed a curriculum and a one-day workshop, and trained selected members in marketplace evangelism skills. The objective is to provide a systematic strategy for restoring a declining, dysfunctional and stalled church to a growing, healthy and vibrant congregation. The field research involved case studies. Though every case study was unique, every church was found to have utilized seven turnaround factors in its revitalization. The desperation and urgency of the church resulted in a more immediate and less difficult turnaround process. The project lasted for ten weeks and included eight sessions in theories and eight sessions in practical evangelistic visits. Through this project the participants became knowledgeable in the biblical mandate for evangelism, acquired the skills necessary to be effective witnesses and developed the passion and discipline needed for living out the Great Commandment of the Lord. Demographic studies and feedback from local residents were utilized to determine the impact of this project on the community. Althought the church could improve its positive image and influence through cultural mission, it slowly bore the fruit of evangelism. As the church kept focusing on its service rather than effects, God empowered the church to bear the fruit of evangelism. This thesis was tested with pre- and post-study surveys of A welcoming life participants. Results show that participants changed their beliefs about hospitality and God's desire for them to share their faith and their behavior regarding the frequency with which they share their faith and invite others to their churches.
