A pretest and posttest evaluation instrument is used to ascertain the significance and impact of the training. A biblical and historical survey of small group types was made, seeking to determine what effect, if any, these small groups had on discipleship and/or evangelism.  Surveys, questionnaires, and reporting forms were used to draw conclusions in both the church and the community. A goal of 1.4 million dollars was established.  Two years were allotted to involve as many as possible of Canda's 300 churches and her 50,000 constituents.  The funds would build a church to seat 1,000 people and a Christian education unit.  All remaining funds would be used for on-going evangelistic programs.  This thesis explains the method of fund raising used and serves to model similar future endeavors.  We received 1.1 million dollars towards our goal. It is based upon the churches alive growing by discipleship concept.  The project also presents a theological defense of the gospel. Two small groups' three outreaches into the community are presented and evaluated.  Various tools for such are included in the appendices.  The conclusions show that the outreaches may not result in many decisions for Christ initially. However, Africa has encountered industrialization, rapid urbanization, and migration into the cities.  The mass migration has resulted in poverty, unemployment, housing shortages, hunger and homelessness, prostitution, and delinquent children. Failure to use local languages, culture, and worldview has produced nominal and syncretistic Christians.  This project will help churches to effectively change their way of reaching these people.  The method of research was based on James and Evelyn Whitehead's tripolar theological method of doing evangelism. This thesis explores ways by which the Seventh-Day Adventist Church can adapt radio broadcasting for social change and evangelism in Ghana. Thus, a study of literature on the art of religious broadcasting, contracts by letters, and interviews and surveys were made to find practical and innovative approaches to contexualized radio evangelism. A manual was developed showing the relationship between success in attracting people into fellowship with a congregation and some forms of nonverbal communication, such as nonverbal messages and nonspeech messages.  The manual was subjected to evaluation by the Commission on Evangelism and Renewal for the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina and revised according to their recommendations. Using historical research, the author discovered the 'gentle persuasion' concept of Moravian evangelism from the eighteenth century.  The author reported his findings in an evangelism guide for congregations called 'The Moravian Way of Evangelism.'  The guide was field-tested in ten congregations.
